
SPRINGFIELD (Aug. 27, 2026) — The Springfield Cardinals secured a 7-2 victory over the San Antonio Missions on Thursday night at Route 66 Stadium.
San Antonio took a 1-0 lead in the first. After a Tirso Ornelas double, Romeo Sanabria drove him home with an RBI single up the middle.
Springfield brought two runs across to take a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first. Josiah Ragsdale notched an RBI double to score Peete, before Deniel Ortiz provided an RBI single to bring home Jesus Baez.
After Tre Richardson singled and stole second, Tai Peete extended the Cardinals' lead to 4-1 with a two-run homer to center.
The Missions brought in another run in the third. Anthony Vilar walked to lead off the inning and stole second. Tirso Ornelas then lined an RBI single to left with two outs, driving in Vilar.
Springfield extended their advantage to 5-2 in the fifth, as Richardson slid in safely on a play at the plate.
In the fifth, Josiah Ragsdale led off with a single and stole second. Later in the frame, Won-Bin Cho drove him in with an RBI double to push the Cardinals’ lead to 6-2.
Peete went deep for the second time in the sixth, extending Springfield’s advantage to 7-2.
San Antonio has dropped six straight games dating back to last weekend.
