
MOOSIC, PA (August 20, 2026) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders beat the Charlotte Knights 5-3 at PNC Field. The team recorded three home runs to seal the victory.
Tyler Hardman had the first hit of the game in the third with a solo shot deep to left field for a 1-0 score.
In the next frame, J.C. Escarra went yard with a 422-foot long ball after Mitch Garver worked a walk to reach.
The Knights got on the board in the sixth. Back-to-back doubles from Junior Perez and Mario Camilletti made it a 3-2 contest.
After Ernesto Martínez Jr. earned a free pass, Anthony Volpe went yard for the second straight game. His blast to centerfield helped SWB to a 5-2 lead.
Charlotte started to rally in the ninth after scoring a run, but Volpe impressed defensively starting a game-ending double play.
Alexander Cornielle (W, 3-3) worked five and a third innings allowing just one run. He struck out five on 89 pitches. Jonathan Cannon (L, 5-6) allowed just two hits, but they were both homers in the loss. Danny Watson (S, 3) earned the save.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre continues its series against Charlotte Saturday night at PNC Field.
