ROCHESTER, NY (September 9, 2026) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders beat the Rochester Red Wings 4-1 at ESL Ballpark on Wednesday night. Max Schuemann and Duke Ellis went deep, backing Brendan Beck’s tenth win of the year and helping the RailRiders get level with the Red Wings atop the International League standings.
After a two-hour and 55-minute delay, Schuemann staked Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to a 1-0 lead with his fifth home run of the season. Schuemann launched a first-pitch sinker 413 feet to left-center for the early lead.
In the second, Ellis singled, stole second, and scored on a Jarred Kelenic single for a 2-0 lead.
Brendan Beck made the lead stand with 5.1 scoreless innings of work, walking one and striking out six.
In the top of the seventh, Ellis’s fifth home run of the year doubled the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre advantage to 4-0. Rochester plated a run on a pair of hits in the bottom of the inning to close the scoring.
Beck (10-2) earned the win, and former Yankees’ farmhand Jack Cebert (0-2) took the loss.
With the win, the RailRiders moved into a tie for first with the Red Wings with ten games remaining in the 2026 regular season.
Elmer Rodríguez will start for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre against Rochester and Isaac Lyon in game three of the series on Thursday night.
