MOOSIC, PA (September 3, 2026) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders walked off the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 4-3 Thursday night at PNC Field. Trailing for most of the game, the RailRiders tied it in the seventh and won it in the ninth, claiming their eighth walk-off victory of the year and their third straight against Lehigh Valley.
The IronPigs took an early lead in the top of the first against Yankees #28 Prospect Brendan Beck. Otto Kemp was hit by a pitch and scored on a Keaton Anthony base hit, giving Lehigh Valley a 1-0 edge. Beck retired the side over the next three frames to keep the game a one-run contest.
In the bottom of the fourth, Anthony Volpe homered off IronPigs starter Alan Rangel, launching a slider over the center-field wall to level the game at one.
Lehigh Valley responded in the top of the fifth. After loading the bases, Kemp laced a two-run single to center for a 3-1 advantage.
The RailRiders cut into the deficit in the bottom of the sixth. Kenedy Corona walked before Volpe ripped a single to center, scoring Corona from first to close within one. Volpe finished the game 3-for-4, a triple shy of the cycle.
Trailing by one in the seventh, consecutive singles from Max Schuemann and Oswaldo Cabrera put runners on the corners for Tyler Hardman, who lifted a sacrifice fly to tie the game at three.
Tied at three in the bottom of the ninth, Schuemann singled with one out before Duke Ellis entered as a pinch runner. Ellis stole second and scored on an RBI walk-off single from Cabrera to capture the victory.
Beck worked 4.2 frames, striking out seven and allowing three runs on three hits. Justin Topa (1-3) earned the win, pitching 1.1 scoreless frames. Rangel surrendered two runs on four hits, striking out six over 5.1 innings. Kirby Snead (5-2) gave up one run on two hits in the loss.
