MOOSIC, PA (August 19, 2026) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders fell to the Charlotte Knights 7-2 Wednesday night at PNC Field. The RailRiders were able to match the Knights early, but Charlotte pulled away thanks to some mid-game home runs.

Charlotte led off the game by earning a pair of runs off of Yankees #15 prospect Xavier Rivas in the first inning.

The RailRiders battled back in the second to tie things up. Oswaldo Cabrera and Yanquiel Fernández singled to get aboard. Tyler Hardman drove in a run and an RBI knock from Kenedy Corona made it 2-2.

The Knights benefitted from two, two-run homers in the next two frames. Ryan Galanie went yard in the third and Riley Unroe followed with his own long ball in the fourth.

Travis MacGregor and Zach Messinger combined for four shutout innings out of the bullpen to keep it a 6-2 deficit.

In the ninth inning, Galanie plated another run for a 7-2 advantage off of Justin Topa.

Rivas worked 3.1 frames, allowing six runs on five hits and four walks. Drew Thorpe worked five innings of two-run ball on a Major League rehab assignment. The Knights bullpen held the RailRiders to the minimum at the plate in the final five frames.
