ALLENTOWN, PA (August 12, 2026) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders lost 11-3 to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Wednesday evening at Coca-Cola Park. The IronPigs opened the scoring with a seven-run first, and the RailRiders could not overcome the deficit.
Lehigh Valley sent ten to the plate in the bottom of the first to build the 7-0 lead. Gabriel Rincones Jr. doubled in Dylan Moore to open the scoring. A two-run double from Tommy Pham extended the lead, and Paul McIntosh’s grand slam capped the inning.
Oswaldo Cabrera and Yanquiel Fernández hit back-to-back home runs in the top of the second to narrow the gap. Cabrera’s was his second in as many games this week and traveled 414 feet to center. Fernández drilled a 1-1 changeup from IronPigs starter Drake Fellows down the right field line for his 20th of the season.
Max Schuemann doubled in Anthony Volpe in the third to cut the RailRiders deficit down to 7-3.
In the bottom of the fourth, Keaton Anthony lined a three-run homer to left to push the Lehigh Valley lead back to seven at 10-3. The IronPigs added a run on an infield single in the seventh to cap the scoring at 11-3
Yankees’ No. 21 prospect Xavier Rivas (0-1) was tagged with the loss, surrendering six runs on two hits and four walks in 0.2 innings. Drake Fellows (4-2) allowed three runs on seven hits over seven complete in the win.
RailRiders’ outfielder Duke Ellis stole second base in the sixth inning, his 44th steal of the season, matching Tommy Barrett’s single-season record. Barrett stole 44 bases in 120 games during Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s inaugural 1989 season. Ellis has equaled the record in 81 games played this year.
