Bridgewater, New Jersey – Minor League Baseball has named Somerset Patriots INF Coby Morales and OF Garrett Martin as 2026 Eastern League All-Stars.
Morales spent the 2026 season in Somerset, hitting .282/.372/.479 with 86 R, 132 H, 21 2B, 4 3B, 21 HR, 81 RBI and 21 SB in 130 games. His 132 hits, 130 games played and 86 runs are team Double-A franchise records for a single season. He also led Somerset with 34 multi-hit games and had his first career 20/20 season.
Morales was among the Eastern League leaders in RBI (2nd), H (3rd), R (3rd), TB (224, 3rd), AVG (5th), XBH (46, T-6th), OBP (6th) and OPS (7th). Among Yankees minor leaguers, Morales ranked second in hits and tied for second in runs.
The Yankees selected Morales in the 18th round of the 2023 MLB Draft out of Washington. He has a minor league career .261 average with 206 R, 343 H, 60 2B, 8 3B, 33 HR, 195 RBI and 72 SB in 1,312 games.
Martin played 63 games in Somerset and hit .270/.344/.568 with 47 R, 70 H, 14 2B, 21 HR and 54 RBI before a promotion to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on 6/20/26. His 21 HR in Somerset’s first 67 games were the most ever in Somerset’s affiliated history.
At the time of his promotion, Martin led the Eastern League in home run and RBI. In addition, he topped Somerset with 18 multi-hit games and 17 multi-RBI games.
Despite an injury shortened season, Martin finished tied for fifth among Yankees minor leaguers in home runs.
The Yankees signed Martin as a non-drafted free agent on 7/14/23. He has a minor league career .233 AVG, with 157 R, 234 H, 53 2B, 5 3B, 50 HR, 162 RBI in 278 games.
