Bridgewater, New Jersey – The Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate, collected over 1,000 stuffed animals as part of a National Teddy Bear donation drive at TD Bank Ballpark on September 9.
Fans, staff and partners brought new or very lightly used teddy bears throughout the day to be donated to the New Jersey State PBA.
Law enforcement personnel and other first responders often have plush toys with them in the event a critical situation involves young children to help calm kids down during these stressful times.
Through the generosity of fans, the team was able to collect the large quantity of stuffed animals that will be distributed to children as needed by first responders. The donation will be made to the New Jersey State PBA as part of the Patriots’ pre-game ceremonies during the Friday, September 11 home game.
