SPRINGFIELD, MO - The Springfield Cardinals picked up their first win of the series with a 3-1 victory over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals on Wednesday night. The win snapped a four-game losing skid behind a strong start from Cardinals number 11 prospect Yhoiker Fajardo.

NOTES:
- NW Arkansas Naturals starter Grant Gambrell retired the first nine Cardinals in order to begin the game before Tai Peete singled to begin the bottom of the fourth.
- The Cardinals offense came on an RBI double from Zach Levenson an RBI single from Jack Gurevitch and a sac fly from Jesús Báez.
- Fajardo pitched will in his Route 66 Stadium debut, going 5.2 innings of shutout ball. He struck out five and gave up just three hits.
- Sandro Santana followed Fajardo and tossed 1.1 shutout innings with two strikeouts.
- Springfield's shutout bid ended in the ninth inning.
