CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Braden Davis didn't allow an earned run over 5.2 innings to help the Cardinals to a 4-1 win over the Corpus Christi Hooks on Friday night at Whataburger Field.
Davis struck out seven and allowed five hits in his longest start since July 7 to pick up his third win this season.
Cade McGee got the scoring started for Springfield with his first Double-A home run in the second inning. Tre Richardson and Jon Jon Gazdar followed with back-to-back doubles.
Jose Davila pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief, and Jack Findlay tossed a scoreless ninth for his fifth save.

• McGee totaled three hits in the game for a new Double-A high.
