SPRINGFIELD, MO - The Springfield Cardinals fell to the Wichita Wind Surge 6-1 on Friday night. Top pitching prospect Liam Doyle struck out ten batters but ultimately took the loss to end Springfield's seven-game win streak.

NOTES:

  • Friday was the first time Doyle struck out double-digit batters. His previous career-high was eight, something he had done twice in May of this year.
  • The only run Doyle allowed came on a solo home run from Garrett Spain in the fourth inning.
  • Springfield's lone run came on a Zach Levenson RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to avoid a shutout.
