SPRINGFIELD, MO - Deniel Ortiz hit two two-run home runs to help the Cardinals to a 6-1 win over the Wichita Wind Surge on Thursday night at Route 66 Stadium.
The win extended Springfield's win streak to seven games matching its longest of the season.
Ortiz's homers gave him four on the season and three in his last two games.
The Cardinals pitching staff did not allow a run after Wichita scored one in the first inning. They stranded 11 Wind Surge runners on base and turned a season-high four double plays.

NOTES:
• Cooper Hjerpe allowed one run on two hits with four walks and three strikeouts over three innings in his start.
• Miguel Ugueto and Trey Paige each had RBI-doubles in the sixth.
• The win marked the 800th career victory for Cardinals manager Patrick Anderson.
