DUNEDIN, Fla. (July 30, 2026) – The Dunedin Blue Jays rallied for a 6-3 win over the St. Lucie Mets at TD Ballpark on Thursday night to take a 2-1 lead in the series.
The Mets scored first for the third straight game in the series by plating two runs in the third inning. But the Blue Jays had an immediate answer, scoring four runs off Mets starter Joel Lara in the bottom of the third to go ahead for good.
The Mets took the lead on a RBI single by Aiden Robbins off Giacomo Taschin with one out in the third. A second run scored on the play on a throwing error by Blaine Bullard to make it 2-0.
JoJo Parker hit a two-run single in the home third inning to tie the game 2-2. Lara then unleashed a wild pitch that brought home Bullard from third base to give Dunedin a 3-2 lead. Parker was awarded home plate later in the inning when Lara tossed a live ball over to the Dunedin dugout after a ground out by Juan Sanchez. That made it 4-2.
The Blue Jays scored another run on a wild pitch thrown by Tyler McLoughlin in the fifth inning to push the lead to 5-2.
Elian Peña narrowly missed a two-run homer in the seventh inning when his fly ball scraped off the right field wall and he had to settle for a RBI double that cut the deficit to 5-3.
Sanchez led off the eighth inning with a double against Jean Brito. Sanchez tagged to third on a fly out and scored on a sac fly by Aldo Gaxiola for the final run of the night.
Blue Jays reliever Edrwin Veras pitched 3.1 innings of one-run ball behind Taschin to get the win.
Lara was charged with four runs (three earned) over 4.0 innings and took the loss. He scattered four hits, walked three and struck out six.
Blue Jays pitcher Gavin Seebold pitched a scoreless ninth in his pro debut to get the save.
Seven of the nine Mets batters recorded a hit. Peña led the way by going 2 for 4 with a double and RBI. Robbins, Ryan Tayman and Kooper Schulte each had a hit in their second career games. All three have now hit safely in their two games.
For the Blue Jays, Bullard went 3 for 5 and Parker was 2 for 5 with a triple, two RBI and two runs.
The Mets (12-20, 45-53) and Blue Jays (16-16, 46-51) play the fourth game of their series at TD Ballpark on Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
