PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (September 4, 2026) – The St. Lucie Mets used the power of the long ball to blow past the Jupiter Hammerheads 10-6 on Friday night at Clover Park. The Mets have won four of their last five games and lead the current series 3-1.
Mets outfielder Kuhio Aloy blasted a grand slam off Elier Morillo before an out was recorded in the first inning to put the Mets up 4-0.
Mets catcher Yovanny Rodriguez hit the first of his two home runs in the third inning to make it 5-2. Rodriguez hit a second solo shot in the fifth inning for a 7-2 lead. It was the second two-homer game for Rodriguez in the last two weeks.
Branny De Oleo reached the double-digit home run mark with a two-run blast in the sixth for a 10-2 lead. It was De Oleo’s 10th homer to go along with 15 doubles this season.
The Mets used seven pitchers who combined for 17 strikeouts, the second most in game by St. Lucie this season.
Mets 2025 fifth round pick Peyton Prescott from Florida State started the game in his pro debut. He pitched a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.
Mets 2026 fourth round pick Shane Sdao from Texas A&M made his pro debut in the second inning. He surrendered a two-run homer to Andres Valor but then struck out three of the next four batters to finish his only inning.
Mets 2026 seventh round pick Aidan Keenan made his third appearance with St. Lucie and held the Hammerheads off the board in the third and fourth innings. He struck out three and was credited with his first career win.
AJ Krodel (1.1 IP, 0 R, 2 K), Nate Isler (1 IP, 3 R, 2 K), Tyler McLoughlin (1.1 IP, 1 R, 3 K) and Zack Mack (1.1 IP, 0 R, 2 K) covered the rest of the game.
Yovanny Rodriguez and Boston Baro led the Mets with two hits apiece. Jeremy Rodriguez walked twice and scored two runs.
Yunior Amparo went 1 for 3 with a single, walk and RBI.
The Mets (24-39, 57-72) and Hammerheads (24-37, 61-66) play the fifth game of their series at Clover Park on Saturday. First pitch is 6:10 p.m. It’s First Responders Night. All former and active first responders receive a free ticket. First responders can get additional $5 tickets for family members at the box office.
It’s also Toy Story Night. The Mets will wear special Sheriff Woody jerseys that will be autographed and auctioned off to support the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Foundation.
