COLUMBUS, OH (August 19, 2026) - After losing by 16 on Tuesday night, Walker Jenkins wanted to make a statement on Wednesday. He made sure to do that, but the St. Paul Saints and Columbus Clippers will have to wait a day to find out the outcome. The game was suspended due to rain in the bottom of the third inning with the Saints up 2-0. The Clippers are batting with runners at first and second and one out and a 2-0 count on Daniel Schneeman. The game will resume at that point on Thursday at 11:05 a.m. (CT) and the game is scheduled for nine innings. The regularly scheduled game will follow approximately 30 minutes at the conclusion of the resumed game and will now be scheduled for seven innings.
On the first pitch of the game Jenkins drilled an opposite field solo homer, his eighth of the season, putting the Saints up 1-0. It was the 11th home run to lead off a game for the Saints, and the fourth on the first pitch of the game.
Tristan Gray hit his first homer with the Saints, a solo shot to right with one out in the second, upping the lead to 2-0. It was the Saints 200th home run of the season becoming the second fastest International League to 200 home runs, 121 games, since stats became available in 2005. The only team to do it in fewer games was the Omaha Storm Chasers, in 119 games, in 2021.
The two teams will resume Wednesday’s game on Thursday afternoon at 11:05 a.m. (CT). The regularly scheduled game will follow approximately 30 minutes at the conclusion of the resumed game. The Saints will send RHP Jack Anderson (4-4, 4.04) to the mound against Clippers RHP Yorman Gomez (1-4, 7.04). Both games can be heard on KFAN Plus, 96.7 FM.
