TACOMA, WA (July 31, 2026) — The Tacoma Rainiers (12-19/45-61) were toppled by the Sacramento River Cats (17-14/59-44) by a score of 10-1 Friday night. Tacoma scored their only run in the bottom of the sixth inning as Victor Labrada left the yard for a second straight game. Michael Arroyo had his ninth multi-hit game with Tacoma in the loss.
Sacramento jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning. Jonah Cox, playing on a Major League rehab assignment, beat out an infield single then stole second base. One batter later, Parks Harber (2) roped a two-run home run that cleared the right field wall. Bo Davidson followed with a ground ball single that deflected into center field and then stole second base. Turner Hill drove in the third run of the frame on a single to center field that scored Davidson and gave the River Cats a 3-0 lead.
Sacramento broke the game open in the top of the second inning. Eddys Leonard (2) started the frame with a leadoff home run to center field. After Adrián Sugastey walked and Thomas Gavello was hit by a pitch, Cox grounded out allowing runners to advance into scoring position. Sacramento loaded the bases after Bandura walked, then scored their second run of the frame with a sacrifice fly from Harber that scored Gavello. Davidson followed with a single to center field that scored Cox and Bandura, extending the River Cats lead to 7-0.
The River Cats added on to their lead in the top of the fourth inning. With one out, Cox walked and one batter later, Bandura (6) poked a two-run home run to right field, bringing Sacramento's lead to 9-0.
The River Cats tallied their tenth run of the night in the top of the sixth inning courtesy of Leonard (3) lining his second home run of the game to left field, making the score 10-0 Sacramento.
Tacoma got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning when Victor Labrada (6) smashed a solo home run over the right field trees.
Tacoma loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh inning. Brock Rodden, Michael Arroyo, and Lazaro Montes all notched singles to load the bases, but Tacoma came up empty-handed as the next three batters were sat down in order, keeping the score at 10-1.
Tacoma put one runner on in the bottom of the ninth inning, but left without a mark, falling 10-1. The Rainiers will attempt to get back in the win column Saturday night as LHP Jhonathan Díaz will take the hill for Tacoma. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.

- OF Spencer Packard went 2-for-3 with a walk out of the nine-hole Friday night, improving Tacoma’s average out of the ninth spot on the season to .289, the best among all Triple-A clubs, ranking second with their .379 OBP.
- OF Victor Labrada smacked his second home run in as many days Friday, finishing 1-for-4 with a home run, RBI, and run scored…it marked the fifth time Labrada has hit home runs in back-to-back games in his career and first since May 3-4, 2025, with Double-A Arkansas.
- Tacoma turned three double plays on Friday night, giving them 95 on the season, tied for the fifth-most in Triple-A…Tacoma’s 83 ground ball double plays are tied for the third-most in the circuit.
- OF Lazaro Montes recorded his fourth outfield assist on Friday night, the most by a Rainiers outfielder this season…since his Triple-A debut on July 7, Montes’ four outfield assists are the most in Triple-A.
- INF/OF Michael Arroyo turned in his ninth-multi hit performance with Tacoma Friday, finishing 2-for-4…he hit .373 (38x102) in July with Tacoma and Double-A Arkansas, his best average in a month since he hit .377 with the ACL Mariners and Single-A Modesto in June, 2023.
- LHP Reid VanScoter tossed a perfect ninth inning Friday night and struck out two of the three batters he faced…it marked VanScoter’s 31st game of the season without giving up a home run, tied for the fourth-most appearances by all minor league pitchers.
