TACOMA, WA (July 30, 2026) — The Tacoma Rainiers (12-18/45-60) fell to the Sacramento River Cats (16-14/58-44) by a score of 6-4 Thursday night. Patrick Wisdom smacked his PCL-best 27th home run of the season in the second inning while Victor Labrada and Miles Mastrobuoni each left the yard in the loss.
Tacoma struck first in the bottom of the second inning as Wisdom (27) blasted a leadoff home run over the left field wall, giving the Rainiers an early 1-0 lead.
The lead did not last long as Sacramento evened the score in the third inning. With two outs, Jonah Cox beat out an infield single and advanced to second when Scott Bandura worked a walk. Then, Parks Harber laced a single down the left field line, scoring Cox from second to tie the game at one.
Tacoma immediately retook the lead as Victor Labrada (5) smoked the first pitch of the bottom of the third inning over the right-center field wall, making it 2-1.
The River Cats took their first lead of the game in the top of the fourth inning. Turner Hill punched a single into center field to lead off the frame. The next batter, Nate Furman, lined a double into the left-center field gap, plating Hill and evening the score at two. Then, Adrián Sugastey hit a single back up the middle, bringing home Furman from second to give Sacramento a 3-2 lead. Sugastey moved up to second when Aeverson Arteaga laid down a sacrifice bunt. After Cox flied out, Bandura (5) pulled a two-run shot over the right field wall, capping off a four-run inning and extending the River Cats’ lead to 5-2.
The Rainiers got a pair back in the home half of the fourth. With one out, Connor Joe pulled a single through the left side of the infield. Two batters later, Miles Mastrobuoni (2) lasered a two-run home run to right field, cutting down the deficit to one, 5-4.
Sacramento got a run back in the top of the sixth inning. With one out, Cox hit a triple into the right field corner and came home to score on a Bandura sacrifice fly to center field, making it 6-4.
Tacoma entered the ninth inning needing two runs to force extra innings Thursday night. They got the tying run to the plate but failed to score, falling 6-4 in the third game of the series.
The Rainiers attempt to even the series Friday night. RHP Nick Hull will toe the rubber for Tacoma with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 PM.

- INF Patrick Wisdom smacked his league-leading 27th home run of the season Thursday night…he finished 2-for-3 with a home run, RBI, walk, and run scored…Wisdom’s .123 HR/PA ratio is the best single-season home run rate in the minor leagues since at least 2005 (min. 100 PA)...since he rejoined the Rainiers on June 18, he leads all Triple-A hitters in: HR (15), RBI (38), OPS (.850), SLG (1.288), XBH (25) and TB (96).
- INF/OF Miles Mastrobuoni hit his second home run of the season Thursday, finishing 1-for-3 with a home run, 2 RBI, and a run…since July 20, he has a .444 AVG (8x20), which is the fifth-best in the PCL (min. 20 PA)... Mastrobuoni logged his third consecutive game with an extra-base hit, which is tied for the second-longest active extra-base hit streak in the PCL.
- INF/OF Michael Arroyo went 2-for-4 Thursday night, improving his average with Tacoma to .333 (25x75)…since his Triple-A debut on July 7, he is hitting .565 against lefties and his 13 hits against southpaws in that time lead all minor league hitters.
- RHP Troy Taylor recorded a season-high 2.0 innings of work Thursday…it marked his first outing of 2.0 IP since July 30, 2024, with Double-A Arkansas.
