First-ever Fins & Feathers Festival welcomes new Opening Day tradition

1:35 PM UTC

Mud Hens Opening Day 2027 will encompass much more than one baseball game. Both the Mud Hens and Walleye play on March 26, introducing the Fins & Feathers Festival.

The Hens and Walleye games will not overlap so fans can experience an entire day of fun in downtown Toledo. The festival also falls on Good Friday, a holiday for most schools and businesses, encouraging fans to spend the weekend with the Hens and Walleye starting on Friday.

“The Fins & Feathers Festival is our vision for turning great events into one unforgettable Toledo tradition,” Joseph Napoli, Mud Hens and Walleye CEO, said.

Festivities start before the Mud Hens game and run throughout the day until the Huntington Center opens. From Hensville concerts, to kid-friendly activities, to mascot appearances, to drinks and food, new and returning fans have the opportunity to spend the day downtown, surrounded by an electric atmosphere.

“It's not really about baseball, hockey, or music alone,” Napoli said. “It's about creating an entire day of energy, connection, and community where fans can experience Toledo at its best. The opportunity is to connect them into one story, one experience, and one event that people plan their schedules around.”

Fans of all ages are encouraged to attend the Festival. Activities will cater to both children and adults, allowing people to connect and participate in the longstanding Opening Day tradition, with a new and exciting twist.

Fins & Feathers passes are sold for $75. The passes include one Mud Hens game ticket, one Walleye game ticket, a VIP lanyard, exclusive reversible jersey, first festival drink, and early beer garden access. Passes are limited and only available for purchase until November 30. For fans who want to be a part of this new Toledo tradition, buying a Fins & Feathers pass is the ultimate way to secure the tickets.

Apart from the all-day party, Fins and Feathers also celebrates the “Belong Your Way” concept exemplified by the Mud Hens and Walleye organizations.

The “Belong Your Way” philosophy emphasizes how fans, whether new or returning, can experience the ballpark and arena in a personal and unique way. A fan does not have to be at the game for the sport and has the ability to make their own fun and memories.

“There isn't one right way to experience the day,” Napoli said. “That's the point. The Fins & Feathers Festival allows you to create your own path and connect with the things that matter most to you. It's more than a ticket to a game.”

Passes for the Festival can be purchased online.
