A memorable 2026 regular season is complete for the Tulsa Drillers (Double-A Affiliate of the World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers), and they will now turn the page to the 2026 Texas League Postseason. Awaiting the Drillers is a first-round matchup with the Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals Affiliate) who have put together their own memorable stretch in the second half of the regular season.
The Drillers and Cardinals are the two winningest teams in the Texas League this season, and they will face off in the best-of-three North Division Playoff Series with the winner advancing to face either Frisco or Amarillo in the Texas League Championship Series.
The North Division Series will begin in Springfield on Tuesday, September 15 at newly-renamed Route 66 Stadium. Game 1 will begin at 6:35 p.m.
The Drillers will host both Game 2, and, if necessary, Game 3 at ONEOK Field on Thursday, September 16 and Friday, September 17. Game 2 on Thursday will begin at 6:30 while a winner-take-all Game 3 would start at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Two great promotions are lined up for the pair of games in Tulsa. This Thursday at ONEOK Field, will be a $3 Thursday while Friday will feature a playoff edition of Friday Night Fireworks. Both nights are courtesy of News On 6 and 106.9 K-Hits.
A complete description of the promotions is below.
The Drillers and Cardinals met 18 times during the regular season with Tulsa holding a slight 10-8 edge in the series. Springfield owned a winning record at ONEOK Field, taking 7 of the 12 games played in Tulsa.
Both teams’ rosters have undergone several changes over the course of the season. The Cardinals current roster features 8 of the top 17 prospects in the St. Louis Cardinals minor league system as ranked by MLB Pipeline, including the top two overall prospects. At the top of the list is 19-year-old catcher Rainiel Rodriguez who hit 23 home runs in just 87 games with Springfield.
Starting pitcher Liam Doyle is the number two overall prospect in the St. Louis system. The lefthander won seven games with the Cardinals and will likely start one of the first two playoff games.
The Drillers active roster for the division series is expected to include 8 of the top 25 prospects in the Los Angeles Dodgers minor league system. Two of those prospects were added this past weekend with the promotion of #1 prospect Josue De Paula from Tulsa to the major leagues.
Outfielders Eduardo Quintero (#3 prospect) and Charles Davalan (#5), who is a University of Arkansas product, were added from High A to fill openings on the active roster. Quintero and Davalan both made their Drillers debuts in Sunday’s regular season finale, and both finished with one hit. Quintero’s hit was his first Double-A home run.
The winner of the North Division Series will advance to the Texas League Championship Series to face the winner of the South Division Series that is a matchup between Frisco and Amarillo.
The TLCS will also be a best-of-three series with Game 1 being played in the South Division winner’s stadium on Sunday, September 20. The winner of the series between the Drillers and the Cardinals will host Game 2 and, if necessary, Game 3 on Tuesday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 23.
Individual tickets for the two games against the Cardinals, as well as the two possible TLCS games, are now on sale at TulsaDrillers.com or in person at the ONEOK Field Ticket Office (201 N. Elgin Avenue).
All Drillers season members who are Fireworks Plan holders or above have already had tickets for all playoff games at ONEOK Field loaded into their accounts as part of their plans.
