PASCO, WA – A four-run bottom of the fifth spelled doom for the Canadians Sunday, as they dropped the regular season finale 6-2 to the Tri-City Dust Devils (LAA) at Gesa Stadium.
After failing to take advantage of two runners in scoring position and one out in the first, Vancouver produced little on offense to keep the game scoreless until the fifth. In that inning, the Dust Devils erupted for four runs on four hits to take a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
Vancouver spoiled the shutout in the seventh**. Ryan Sprock** and Austin Smith singled to put runners at the corners and Gable Mitchell delivered a run-scoring fielder’s choice to make it 4-1.
A two-run homer in the eighth iced the game for the Dust Devils, though Sprock smashed a solo shot in the ninth that brought the Canadians within four before they lost 6-2.
Connor O’Halloran turned in his finest start of the year. The Mississauga, ON native went four scoreless innings, didn’t allow a hit until the fourth and scattered a walk and two strikeouts.
The 2026 Northwest League Championship Series begins Tuesday, September 8 at The Nat as the C’s take on the Eugene Emeralds (SF). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. across the Canadians Broadcast Network.
