VANCOUVER, BC – Minor League Baseball has named Vancouver Canadians Head Groundskeeper Levi Weber as the 2026 Northwest League Groundskeeper of the Year.
In his fifth season at The Nat, Weber and his crew – Brooks Primo, Cameron Carelse and Michael Vetter – maintained a championship-caliber playing surface throughout the historic 75th anniversary season of Rogers Field at Nat Bailey Stadium, which culminated with a Northwest League Championship for the C’s. The recognition is the second for Weber, whose work has made the playing surface at Vancouver’s iconic ballpark one of the finest across the sport.
“It’s an incredible honour to be recognized by Minor League Baseball to represent the Northwest League,” Weber said. “This award belongs to the entire grounds crew; they show up and put the work in every day. There’s no better way to cap off a championship season at The Nat than to bring this one home to Vancouver.”
The Colton, WA native graduated from Washington State University with a Double Major in Turfgrass Management and Vegetable Management and two minors in Horticulture and Agricultural Systems.
“Levi takes tremendous pride in making sure our players have the best possible place to play day in and day out, and that commitment was on full display throughout an unforgettable season,” Canadians General Manager Allan Bailey said. “The care, consistency and attention to detail that Levi and his crew bring to The Nat are a huge part of what makes this ballpark so special, and we couldn’t be happier to see him receive this well-deserved distinction during a championship season.”
As venerable Rogers Field at Nat Bailey Stadium looks ahead to its next 75 years, Weber and the Canadians have added another memorable chapter to the storied history of The Nat and its trophy case.
The 2026 Northwest League Champion Vancouver Canadians will return to The Nat on April 2, 2027. For tickets and more information, visit CanadiansBaseball.com.
