Visalia, CA – The Visalia Rawhide (39-60, 11-22) fell to the Inland Empire 66ers (43-56, 15-19) 5-2 on Thursday night at Valley Strong Ballpark.
The Rawhide saw strong pitching performances. Chung-Hsiang Huang tossed five innings tying a season high. He allowed just four hits, three runs and no walks with four strikeouts.
Joe Ariola pitched two perfect innings with four strikeouts. The Wake Forest product has not allowed an earned run in the first 10 innings and five appearances of his Rawhide career.
Inland Empire took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third on a solo home run. Visalia answered in the bottom of the inning. Tytus Cissell led off with a single and Yerald Nin followed with a base hit to send Cissell to third. Cissell scored on Abdias De La Cruz’s sacrifice fly.
The 66ers retook the lead on a two run homer in the fourth. Visalia scored their last run in the fifth. Cissell led off the inning with a single and came around to score on a De La Cruz RBI single.
Cissell and De La Cruz led the Rawhide with two hits apiece.
Visalia and Inland Empire continue the series on Friday with WWE Night at Valley Strong Ballpark. The first 350 fans will receive a Rawhide Wrestling jersey. A pregame wrestling demo with Wright Wrestling Academy will occur in the 4Creeks Pasture.
Kids 15 and younger can also receive a Rawhide school lunch bag thanks to Golden Valley Painting while supplies last each day.
The game is a Four Pack Friday courtesy of Valley Pacific Petroleum Service and Chevron. Fans can pick up a four pack voucher at participating Chevron locations or show their Chevron Gas Card at the ballpark to receive four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for only $50.
