Visalia, CA – The Visalia Rawhide (40-61, 12-23) playing Saturday as the Central Valley Sir Loins fell to the Inland Empire 66ers (44-57, 16-19) 14-5 at Valley Strong Ballpark.
Inland Empire hit four home runs. The 66ers scored a tally apiece in the second and fourth frames on RBI doubles before a three run homer opened up a five run lead.
Visalia got on the board in the sixth. Pedro Blanco led off with a single, Enyervert Perez worked a walk and Juan Alvarez launched a three run homer 395 feet over the scoreboard in right field for his first hit with the Rawhide in his second game in Visalia.
The 66ers hit a three run homer in the seventh to extend the lead back to five. Perez delivered a two RBI single in the seventh inning to trim the lead to three but the 66ers closed the night with three run frames in the eighth and ninth innings.
Perez led the Rawhide with two hits while Jose Alpuria recorded a single to extend his on-base streak to 14 games.
Visalia and Inland Empire wrap up the series on Sunday at Valley Strong Ballpark. The series finale is a Family Fun Sunday presented by Spirit Radio and Valley Children’s Healthcare.
The first 100 members of Tipper’s Kids Club will receive a Rawhide 6-7 jersey courtesy of Valley Children’s Healthcare and the Allen Law Firm. All kids will have the opportunity for a postgame running of the bases.
Families can sign up their kids for Tipper’s Kids Club by visiting the Rawhide Ticket Office presented by Kaweah Health or by stopping by the ballpark’s guest services booth during games.
In addition, all kids 15 and younger can receive a Rawhide school lunch bag thanks to Golden Valley Painting while supplies last as part of Back to School Weekend.
Fans 21 and older can enjoy eight dollar margaritas and micheladas during Sunday’s game.
