Grand Rapids, MI – October 27, 2026 – The Whitecaps Community Foundation announced today that tickets and sponsorships for its Annual Winter Banquet, presented by Eastbrook Homes, are now on sale. This year’s event will feature special guest Jon Morosi of MLB Network and take place Thursday, January 14, 2027, in the Ambassador Ballroom at the Amway Grand Hotel. With a marquee guest and an evening celebrating Whitecaps baseball and community impact, fans are encouraged to secure their seats early.
A Michigan native, Morosi has deep roots in the state’s baseball community. Earlier in his career, he covered the West Michigan Whitecaps as an intern for The Grand Rapids Press, making his return to West Michigan a fitting homecoming. Now a familiar voice to baseball fans nationwide through his work with MLB Network, Morosi will bring his insight and perspective on the game to an evening celebrating baseball and the impact of the Whitecaps Community Foundation throughout the community.
The evening will also feature the announcement of the newest inductee into the West Michigan Whitecaps Hall of Fame, with the 2027 inductee set to be announced in November. The honoree will be recognized during the Winter Banquet for their contributions to the Whitecaps organization and their impact on the game. Members of the 2026 Whitecaps team will also return to West Michigan for the event, giving attendees an opportunity to celebrate the team’s accomplishments and reflect on another memorable season of Whitecaps baseball.
The annual Winter Banquet serves as a signature fundraising event for the Whitecaps Community Foundation, bringing together community leaders, baseball fans, and supporters to celebrate the organization’s commitment to enriching the lives of youth and their families throughout West Michigan.
Founded in 2012, the Whitecaps Community Foundation has been a key supporter of youth baseball and softball in West Michigan. Through its longstanding partnership with the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids and the Ted Rasberry Youth League, the Foundation has helped provide free summer baseball and softball opportunities to thousands of young athletes. The program offers coaching, team building, and post-practice meals at no cost to participants.
Funds raised through the Winter Banquet support these efforts and the Foundation’s broader mission of providing youth and their families with access to fun, educational, and recreational opportunities throughout the region.
Individual tickets start at $175, and table sponsorships are also available. With Jon Morosi, members of the 2026 Whitecaps team, and the announcement of the newest Hall of Fame inductee all part of the evening, fans are encouraged to reserve their seats now.
