De Andrade collects four hits as Wichita erupts late to take series finale

TULSA, Okla. — The Wichita Wind Surge (27-36) salvaged the finale of a six-game series with a 13-7 victory over the Tulsa Drillers (38-25) on Sunday at ONEOK Field, powered by seven multi-hit performances from the lineup.
The bottom third of the order led the way offensively as Danny De Andrade set a new Double-A career high with four hits for his first multi-hit performance with Wichita. Luis Hernandez and Graham Brown also collected two hits apiece, with Brown launching his fourth home run of the season. Marek Houston, Khadim Diaw, Caden Kendle and Andrew Cossetti also recorded multiple hits in the win.
Defensively, Wichita committed a season-high five errors, resulting in four unearned runs. Chris Vallimont helped keep the Drillers off the board late, tossing four scoreless innings of relief while striking out two. Kyle Bischoff also worked a scoreless inning.
THE RUNDOWN
Adrian Bohorquez started on the mound for the Wind Surge and was sharp through his first two innings, allowing just one baserunner while striking out two.
The Surge opened the scoring in the top of the third, loading the bases and plating two runs on a walk and a sacrifice fly. The Drillers answered in the bottom half, scoring three runs on a groundout, an RBI single and a wild pitch to take a 3-2 lead.
Wichita regained the lead in the top of the fourth, using an RBI single from Brown and a two-run single from Houston to move ahead 5-3. Tulsa once again responded in the bottom half, using three singles, a sacrifice fly and four Wind Surge errors to score four runs and take a 7-5 lead.
The Wind Surge trimmed the deficit in the top of the sixth when Brown launched a solo homer over the wall in right field, his fourth of the season, to make it a 7-6 game.
Wichita tied the game in the top of the ninth after loading the bases and scoring on a wild pitch. De Andrade followed in the tenth with a two-run single, his fourth hit of the game, to give the Surge a 9-7 lead. Wichita continued to add on with an RBI single from Kendle and RBI doubles from Diaw and Cossetti to extend the advantage to 13-7.
Jaylen Nowlin recorded the final three outs to close out the 13-7 victory.
