Wichita, KS - The sky above Equity Bank Park is about to get a whole lot brighter and fans will not want to miss it.

The Wichita Wind Surge are excited to announce the organization’s first-ever drone light shows, bringing a spectacular new postgame experience to fans on three consecutive days in September following the team’s matchup against the Frisco RoughRiders.

Hundreds of synchronized drones will take to the sky, creating dazzling formations, animations and team-themed images above the ballpark. The one-of-a-kind show will provide fans with an unforgettable way to cap off an exciting night of baseball and fun.  The shows will also include pyrotechnics and will be next level entertainment.  The shows will begin immediately following the games on:

Thursday, September 10 – Drone show with a look back on Minor League Baseball in Wichita and the end of the Wind Surge era.

Friday, September 11- A celebration of America with a 9/11 remembrance Fireworks and a full drone show

Saturday, September 12 – An 18-minute full production of drone and pyro with on-field effects to celebrate Harry Potter Night

“We’re always looking for new and exciting ways to entertain our fans, and this is definitely something they’ve never seen at our ballpark before,” commented Matt Hamilton, Wind Surge General Manager. “We can’t wait to see the sky light up with drones and fireworks and give our fans another reason to stick around after the final out and put a cap on our 2026 season.”

The drone shows will feature custom imagery accompanied by music designed specifically for the evening and themes.  While fireworks have long been a fan favorite, drone light shows offer a modern twist on the traditional postgame spectacle. Fans will not want to miss these shows and are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at windsurge.com or the box office at Equity Bank Park.

The Wind Surge host Arkansas next week from August 25-30th and then host Frisco in the final series of the 2026 season from September 8 – 13th.
