Wichita Falls to Arkansas 5-3
Brown Homers in Defeat
The Wichita Wind Surge (26-29) dropped their third game in a row on Friday night, falling 5-3 to the Arkansas Travelers (23-32) at Equity Bank Pank.
Wichita got a solid start from Chris Vallimont and a home run from Graham Brown, but it was not enough as Arkansas picked up the victory.
The Rundown:
Arkansas got the scoring started with a solo home run from Josh Caron in the top half of the second inning.
The visitors added a run in the top of the sixth on a RBI single by Hunter Fitzgerald.
The Travelers extended their advantage with a two run top of the seventh courtesy of a RBI single by Johnny Farmelo and an error by Wichita.
The Surge got on the board in the bottom of the seventh with a two run home run off the bat of Graham Brown, his third of the year with Wichita. The rally continued later in the inning as Garrett Spain whacked a two out single to cut the deficit to 4-3.
Arkansas got an insurance run back in the 8th with a RBI single from Sammy SIani to restore a two-run advantage.
Jimmy Kingsbury pitched a clean ninth inning to close things out for Arkansas and pick up the seven out save.
