Ebel's Three Hits Lead to Six RBIs

WILSON, N.C. - Brady Ebel’s six-RBI night propelled the Wilson Warbirds to a 10-3 victory over the Columbia Fireflies on Tuesday night at Wilson Ballpark.

Ebel got the scoring started for Wilson (56-50, 20-20 second half) in the bottom of the third inning, smashing a two-run double to left field to push Wilson in front 2-0 early.

The Warbirds took a 3-0 lead in the fourth when Juan Ortuño came around to score on a single from Filippo Di Turi.

Columbia (55-52, 21-20 second half) clawed back, as Tyson Moran recorded his first hit as a Firefly, a two-run blast to right field to cut Wilson’s lead to 3-2.

In the top of the seventh inning, Columbia tied the game at three as Connor Rasmussen singled in the tying run.

Ebel decided to take matters into his own hands in the bottom of the seventh, hooking a two-run home run around the left field fair pole to put the Warbirds ahead 5-3.

An inning later, Ebel put the game away, slamming a two-run triple to straightaway center field to help secure the 10-3 win.

In his first appearance for the Warbirds, Luke Roupe (W, 1-0) was the winning pitcher for Wilson while Jhon Reyes (L, 2-4) took the loss.
