Brian DeAngelis, President and General Manager of the Winston-Salem Dash, announced today that he will be leaving the organization to become Chief Revenue Officer of the University of Central Florida (UCF) Athletics Department.
DeAngelis joined the Dash as President and General Manager in 2021 after previously serving in senior leadership roles with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. During his tenure in Winston-Salem, the organization achieved record-breaking attendance and revenue in 2023, introduced a series of creative alternate identities that gained national attention and recognition from MiLB, including the Hype Hens, Italian Beef and most recently, the Carolina Reapers. The Dash received its first-ever Golden Bobblehead Award in 2025 for Best Promotion or Event. The award recognized “Prom Wasn’t Built in a Day,” a promotion created after a last-minute relocation of a road series to Winston-Salem resulted in the Dash hosting a professional baseball game and a high school prom at Truist Stadium on the same night.
“Leading the Winston-Salem Dash has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career, and I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together,” said DeAngelis. “Winston-Salem is a special community, and the support our organization has received from our fans, partners and community has made my time here truly meaningful. Most of all, I am grateful for our staff and the passion and commitment they bring to the ballpark every day. While I am excited for the opportunity ahead at UCF, Winston-Salem has meant a great deal to me and my family, and I will always value the time we have spent here.”
DeAngelis’ chapter concluded with another historic milestone this past weekend, as the Dash set two new all-time franchise attendance records. The team welcomed the largest single-game crowd in franchise history on Friday, August 28, before closing out the final home weekend of the season with the highest-attended weekend in Dash history with 32,482 fans.
The Dash will finish the 2026 regular season on the road this week, taking on the Rome Emperors in a six-game series at AdventHealth Stadium from September 1-6.
The organization together with owner/ operator Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH) will announce plans for the club’s next General Manager in the coming weeks.
