Beloit, WI: The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers wrapped up the 2026 season with a split in a six-game series with the Beloit Sky Carp at ABC Supply Stadium. The Rattlers end the second half with a 34-31 record.
Wisconsin's win in the season finale on Sunday at Beloit clinched a season series win over the Sky Carp with an 11-9 record over their in-state rivals. Wisconsin finished the season with an overall record of 68-59.
The Rattlers pitching got off to a solid start and won 4-2 in the Tuesday opener. Wednesday was even closer but Wisconsin won 4-3. Beloit won the next three games of the series; 4-1 on Thursday, 12-11 on Friday, and 5-0 on Saturday. Wisconsin ended the season on a high note with an 8-5 Sunday win to earn the split.
The Rattlers 2026 series record ends at 12-6-5. The Rattlers also finished the season with a 37-26 road record, the best in the MWL.
Wisconsin’s pitching staff had a 5.23 team ERA in the series at Beloit. The team combined for 46 strikeouts and 30 walks while going 3-for-3 in save opportunities.
Michael Fowler picked up two of those saves and his six on the season crown him as the team leader. Fowler gave up just one run with three strikeouts, two walks and two hits over his three and one-third innings pitched in the series.
Joshua Quezada provided an additional punch out of the bullpen. Quezada earned his second win of the season with eight strikeouts, two walks, one earned run and one hit in two games over four and one-third innings pitched against the Sky Carp.
The relief pitching efforts didn’t stop there. Tanner Perry picked up his third win of the season after making three appearances in Beloit. Perry pitched four and two-thirds innings with three strikeouts and three walks.
Miqueas Mercedes was the rotation’s cream of the crop. Mercedes pitched five and two-thirds scoreless innings in his Timber Rattler debut with four strikeouts, four walks, three hits while earning his first Midwest League win.
Other notable pitching performances include:
- Jarrette Bonet worked four scoreless innings in a relief appearance
- Bjorn Johnson securing his third save of the season
- Luiyin Alastre keeping Thursday’s game close by pitching two scoreless frames with an inning ending strikeout to strand the bases loaded
The Rattlers scored 28 runs during the trip while batting 33-for-188. Wisconsin drew 36 walks and were hit by ten pitches in the six-game set. The baserunners took advantage of the free passes and stole 18 bases while being caught just once. The Rattlers had ten extra base hits in the series (four doubles, six home runs).
Daniel Dickinson was 8-for-19 (.421) with seven runs, one homer, and seven stolen bases, closing the book on a monstrous second half of the season. Dickinson, the Milwaukee Brewers Minor League Player of the Month for August, hit .345 in the second half, the best second half batting average in the Midwest League (min. 200 at bats).
Luis Castillo had a large chunk of the offense as well. Castillo’s six RBI ended his season total at 90, the most in the Midwest League. Castillo also became the fourth Rattler of the season to hit 20 home runs joining Andrew Fischer, Braylon Payne and Eric Bitnoti. Castillo drew eight walks, with his 43 in the second half being sixth most in the Midwest League.
Tayden Hall finished the series batting 6-for-21 (.286). Hall hit his 12th home run of the season while also hitting a double and reaching base at a .423 rate.
Juan Ortuno introduced himself to Timber Rattler nation by hitting a two-run home run on the very first pitch he saw in the opener. Ortuno finished the series with five RBI, four stolen bases, a double and three runs.
Other batting contributions consisted of:
- Eric Bitonti’s 25th home run of the season, with 16 of them coming in the second half (T-1st in MWL). Bitonti had three RBI in the series with five walks and four runs
- Tyler Rodriguez hit two doubles and drew four walks
- Sawyer Strosnider hit his second professional home run
The Rattlers will open the 2027 season on Friday, April 2 for a three-game series against the Peoria Chiefs at Dozer Park. Wisconsin returns to Neuroscience Group Field for a six-game series against the Beloit Sky Carp on Tuesday, April 6.
