Nationals recall right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde

The Washington Nationals recalled right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde from Triple-A Syracuse and optioned right-handed pitcher Trevor Gott to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.

The Washington Nationals recalled right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde from Triple-A Syracuse and optioned right-handed pitcher Trevor Gott to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.
Fedde, 25, returns to the Nationals to make his second Major League start of the 2018 season. In 11 starts for Triple-A Syracuse, Fedde is 3-2 with a 4.76 ERA. He has struck out 61 batters in 56.2 IP (9.7 SO/9.0 IP) while issuing just 15 walks. He did not issue a walk in his previous two Minor League starts prior to this promotion.
Fedde made his first Major League start of the season on May 23 vs. San Diego. He allowed three earned runs on six hits in 5.2 innings of work. Fedde struck out six batters while walking just one.
Gott, 25, has appeared in18 games for the Nationals in 2018, going 0-2 with a 4.96 ERA along the way.
