Nationals add reliever Gott, deal Escobar to Angels

Club also acquires Minor Leaguer Brady in trade for infielder

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Nationals added another reliever to their bullpen mix by acquiring right-hander Trevor Gott, along with Minor League righty Michael Brady, from the Angels for third baseman Yunel Escobar.

The trade means that Anthony Rendon will move back from second to third base for the Nationals. Gott will work out of Washington's bullpen. This past season, Gott appeared in 48 games and had a 3.02 ERA for the Angels. His fastball has been clocked in the mid-90s.

Escobar was a man without a position for the Nationals after the 2015 season. While he had a great year with the bat, he was below average with the glove.
