Blue Jays trade for 2B Devon Travis

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have acquired 2B DEVON TRAVIS from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for outfielder ANTHONY GOSE. 

TRAVIS, 23, spent the 2014 season with Erie of the Eastern League (AA) where he hit .298 with 20 doubles, seven triples, 10 home runs and 52 RBI. The 5-9, 195 lb right-handed hitter posted a .358 on-base percentage and stole 16 bases.   The West Palm Beach, Florida native was Detroit's 13th round selection in the 2012 first year player draft.   He was recently recognized by Baseball America as the #1 prospect in the Detroit Tigers organization.   In three minor league seasons has a career average of .323 with 92 extra base hits in 257 games with 139 RBI, 41 stolen bases and an OPS of .876.
