A's name Dan Kantrovitz assistant general manager

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's named Dan Kantrovitz assistant general manager, the club announced today.

Kantrovitz will be involved in all aspects of the A's baseball operations department with a primary focus on overseeing statistical analysis for evaluating and targeting players in the amateur draft, free agent and trade markets. He previously served as director of scouting for the St. Louis Cardinals from 2012-14. Kantrovitz joined the Cardinals organization in 2004 and held various duties in baseball operations before spending three seasons with the A's from 2009-11 with responsibilities in international operations and baseball operations analysis. He received a bachelor's degree in organizational behavior and management from Brown University in 2001 and a master's degree in statistics from Harvard University in 2009.
