Brewers nominated for three MLB Network Social Media awards

Fans Encouraged to Vote Online at mlb.com/socialawards.

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Brewers were named finalists for three awards in the second annual MLB Network Social Media Awards. The Brewers are up for awards in the categories of Best Selfie, Best Team Promo and Best Videobomb. Fans can support the Brewers by voting for the team through Twitter at mlb.com/socialawards.

The #BrewersTeamSelfie was taken by Carlos Gomez on the field at Miller Park during the team's annual photo day. After the official team photo was taken, Gomez took control of the camera and snapped several photographs including the award-nominated shot. The photo features Gomez posing in front of his teammates with their classic home white jerseys on.

The Brewers "#SeeUMarch31: Countdown to Opening Day" campaign earned the team a nomination in the Best Team Promo category. The campaign asked fans to show how they were counting down the days to Opening Day by posting photos to Twitter and Instagram by using the hashtag "#SeeUMarch31."

Gomez also helped earn the team a nomination in the Best Videobomb category when he disrupted Mark Reynolds' July 24 appearance on MLB Network's "Intentional Talk." Reynolds was speaking with hosts Chris Rose and Kevin Millar when Leonardo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles snuck up behind him. After dancing and surprising Reynolds, Gomez pulled off his mask revealing himself as the cartoon hero.
