Craig and Patty Biggio to attend Sunshine Kids Holiday Party tonight; UYA members and families to volunteer at Houston Food Bank
SUNSHINE KIDS HOLIDAY PARTY
The Astros are partnering with the Sunshine Kids to throw a holiday party at the Children's Museum Houston tonight, December 12. More than 300 children and family members struggling with cancer will attend the party where they will be served a holiday dinner by Astros front office staff, have an opportunity to get their photos taken with Santa and Orbit, receive a special Astros gift and create holiday crafts. Astros legend Craig Biggio and his wife Patty will also be in attendance tonight.

URBAN YOUTH ACADEMY TO VOLUNTEER AT HOUSTON FOOD BANK
Tomorrow, December 13, more than 100 Astros Urban Youth Academy participants and their families will be volunteering at the Houston Food Bank from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

ABOUT THE SUNSHINE KIDS:
The Sunshine Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to children with cancer. Established in 1982, we are committed to providing positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients. The Sunshine Kids provides a variety of programs and events, free of charge, for kids who are receiving cancer treatments in hospitals across North America.
ABOUT THE HOUSTON FOOD BANK:
In fall 2008, the Houston Food Bank merged with End Hunger Network, a Houston-area food rescue organization, thus making more effective use of community resources by working together as one.
In fiscal year 2013-2014, HFB distributed 59 million nutritious meals food and other necessities. The vision for the future is to expand service to the community to 100,000,000 nutritious meals by 2018.
ABOUT THE ASTROS URBAN YOUTH ACADEMY (2801 South Victory Drive, Houston, TX 77088):
The Astros Urban Youth Academy (UYA), which officially opened in 2010, is run by the Astros Foundation and provides free baseball and softball instruction, life skills training and academic support to Houston youth, with a focus on serving inner-city and at-risk children and teens. Baseball and softball camps, clinics and other activities are provided by experienced instructors. UYA staff also provide mentoring, leadership development and assistance with the college application process. The UYA's doors are open year-round free of charge to youngsters age 7 to 17 from the Houston area. The Astros were the first Major League club to open an Urban Youth Academy.
