Phillies statement regarding the 2015 Hall of Fame inductees

Phillies Senior Vice President and General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr. issued the following statement today regarding the 2015 Hall of Fame inductees:

"On behalf of the Philadelphia Phillies, I would like to congratulate the Class of 2015 on their election into the Hall of Fame. Having played against all of them, I can speak firsthand about their character and professionalism. They are all very deserving of this highest honor.

"With regard to Pedro Martinez, we were fortunate to have him don the Phillies pinstripes in 2009. He brought an element of personality, exemplary character and experience to our clubhouse that was unmatched. His pitching and contributions to the club in such a short period of time were impressive and impactful. Congratulations, Pedro."
