The Chicago White Sox and outfielder Dayan Viciedo have agreed to terms on a one-year, $4.4-million contract, avoiding arbitration.

Viciedo, 25, batted .231 (121-523) with 21 home runs, 58 RBI and 65 runs scored in 145 games with the White Sox in 2014. The 5-foot-11, 240-pound Viciedo recorded career highs in runs scored, extra-base hits (46), walks (32) and at-bats.

He is a career .254 (425-1,675) hitter with 66 home runs, and 211 RBI in 483 games over five seasons in the major leagues, all with Chicago (2010-14). Viciedo has hit 20-plus homers three times in the last four seasons.

The White Sox have five remaining arbitration eligible players: catcher Tyler Flowers and right-handed pitchers Javy Guerra, Nate Jones, Hector Noesi and Jeff Samardzija.
