A's Agree to Terms with IF Eric Sogard on One-Year Contract

The Oakland A's agreed to terms with infielder Eric Sogard on a one-year contract for the 2015 season, the club announced today.

Sogard spent the entire season with Oakland in 2014 and batted .223 with a home run and 22 RBI in 117 games. He made 88 of his 92 starts (80 at second base and 12 at shortstop) against right-handed pitching and has made 192 of his 202 starts over the last two seasons against righties. The 28-year-old left-handed hitter batted .267 after the All-Star Break after hitting .186 before the break.

The A's have three remaining players eligible for arbitration including Fernando Abad, Tyler Clippard and Jarrod Parker.
