Blue Jays acquire Aquino
The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have acquired LHP JAYSON AQUINO from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for LHP TYLER YBARRA. To make room on the 40-man roster for Aquino, the Blue Jays have designated infielder CHRIS COLABELLO for assignment.
AQUINO, 22, combined to post a 5-10 record with a 5.13 ERA in 18 starts for Modesto of the California League (A) and Tulsa of the Texas League (AA). In five minor league seasons 6-1, 180 lb. native of San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic has posted a 27-26 record with a 2.84 ERA.
YBARRA, 25, posted a 4-4 record with a 4.42 ERA in 38 relief appearances with New Hampshire of the Eastern League (AA). The 6-2, 210 lb. left-hander has a career minor league record of 13-13 with a 3.09 ERA in five seasons.
