Two Minor League players suspended

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that two Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Oakland Athletics Minor League right-handed pitcher Koby Gauna has received a 50-game suspension without pay following a second positive test for a drug of abuse in violation of the Program. The suspension of Gauna, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A Vermont Lake Monsters of the New York-Penn League, will be effective at the start of the 2015 NYPL season.

Atlanta Braves Minor League right-handed pitcher Richie Tate has received a 50-game suspension without pay following a second positive test for a drug of abuse in violation of the Program. The suspension of Tate, who is currently on the roster of the Single-A Carolina Mudcats of the Carolina League, will be effective at the start of the 2015 Carolina League season.
