Dodger Yearbook to spotlight Fernando Valenzuela; 34th anniversary of 'Fernandomania' and Valenzuela's April 9, 1981, Opening Day start

LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers announced today that their 2015 Los Angeles Dodgers Yearbook will celebrate the life and career of legendary Dodger lefty Fernando Valenzuela. Valenzuela is starting his 13th season as a Dodger broadcaster and will now call games on SportsNet LA in Spanish. Valenzuela, who famously wore No. 34, celebrates a special anniversary this season, the 34th anniversary of his April 9, 1981 Opening Day start and the launch of Fernandomania.

Valenzuela sat down with Dodger Director of Digital and Print Content Jon Weisman for an unprecedented interview. The 2015 Los Angeles Dodger Yearbook is highlighted by a special 21-page section entirely in Valenzuela's words and features never-before-seen photos. "The Man Behind the Mania," includes Valenzuela's reflections from his first memories of playing baseball at age 13 to his success on the mound for the Dodgers through his present-day role as a Dodger broadcaster.

The Dodgers' 2015 yearbook also features a month-by-month review of the Dodgers' 2014 season, a detailed look at the 2015 roster, a special salute to NL MVP and Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw, "In Memoriam" tributes to members of the Dodger family, photos of celebrities who visited Dodger Stadium in 2014, reports on the new front-office leadership, minor league affiliations and changes at Dodger Stadium and Camelback Ranch and information about tickets, promotions and more.

Fans can place orders now online at www.dodgers.com/magazine for the 2015 Los Angeles Dodgers Yearbook featuring Valenzuela priced at $20. The yearbook will also be on sale for $15 at all Dodger Stadium stores starting in April.

A Dodger yearbook is free with a 2015 subscription to Dodger Insider magazine, the team's official monthly publication, by April 30. Dodger Insider is the team's official game program, with the April issue available at the Dodgers' home opener against the San Diego Padres on Monday, April 6, and new editions will be published monthly through October. This year's program debuted in March at the opening of Spring Training at Camelback Ranch in Arizona. Complete details on all Dodger publications, including the 2015 yearbook, can be found by visiting www.dodgers.com/magazine.
