Yankees acquire Minor League INF Gregorio Petit

Today the Yankees acquired minor league INF Gregorio Petit from the Houston Astros in exchange for cash considerations. Petit will report to Major League camp.

In 2014, Petit batted .278 (27-for-97) with 14R, 8 doubles, 2HR and 9RBI in 37 games with Houston. He also played in 85 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, batting .297 (94-for-317) with 46R, 19 doubles, 1 triple, 10HR, 43 RBI, 20BB, a .340 on-base percentage and a .798OPS.

In his Major League career, Petit owns a .278 batting average (42-for-151) with 20R, 11 doubles, 2HR, 10RBI and a .692OPS in 62 games over parts of three seasons with Oakland (2008-09) and Houston (2014).
