Altanta Braves make two Spring roster moves

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - The Atlanta Braves made two spring roster moves today, as right-handed pitcher Brandon Cunniff was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett and outfielder Joe Benson was added to the Non-Roster Invitation list for the remainder of Major League camp.

Benson, 27, signed with the Braves as a minor-league free agent in January and has gone 3-for-12 (.250) with a home run and two RBI in nine games for the Braves this spring. He played in 21 games for the Minnesota Twins in 2011 and is a .254 career hitter in 861 minor-league games.

Atlanta has 36 active players remaining in its Major League camp. The Braves begin the 2015 campaign on Monday, April 6, at Miami (4:10 p.m., SportSouth).
