Chicago Cubs set 2015 Opening Day roster

CHICAGO - The Chicago Cubs have set their Opening Day 25-man roster in advance of their 2015 season opener against the St. Louis Cardinals tonight at Wrigley Field. 

The Cubs have selected the contract of infielder Jonathan Herrera. Outfielder Ryan Sweeney has been designated for assignment.

Right-handed pitcher Dallas Beeler has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. Right-handed pitcher Jacob Turner has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. Left-handed pitcher Tsuyoshi Wada has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a mild left groin strain. Outfielder Chris Denorfia has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a mild left hamstring strain. All four players on the disabled list are retroactive to March 27.
