Brewers partner with Shatterproof

The Milwaukee Brewers and Brewers Community Foundation (BCF) have once again teamed up with Shatterproof, a national organization committed to protecting our children from addiction to alcohol or other drugs and ending the stigma and suffering of those affected by this disease.
 
On Tuesday, May 5 at Miller Park when the team takes on the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Brewers will celebrate "Shatterproof Day." Representatives from Shatterproof will be at Miller Park distributing literature and raising awareness for their cause. That same day, Shatterproof is hosting Shatterproof Challenge Rappel Milwaukee, a fundraiser where individuals and groups raise money to be able to rappel down the Hilton City Center. In addition, Brewers Community Foundation will make a financial contribution towards the organization. 
 
"We are pleased to once again partner with Shatterproof and contribute to their battle against addiction," said BCF Executive Director Cecelia Gore. "We appreciate the work they do to raise funds and awareness, and we look forward to welcoming them to Miller Park next month."
 
Shatterproof was started by Gary Mendell who lost his son, Brian, to the disease of addiction. Following the tragic loss of his son, Gary committed himself to ensure others do not have to suffer the loss of a loved one due to the disease of addiction. Shatterproof is in its second year, and its building a dynamic-national movement to decisively tackle the disease of addiction to alcohol and other drugs and bridge the gap in addiction resources.
