White Sox announce upcoming series events

Upcoming homestandf features free T-shirt giveaway, pregame award ceremony honoring Jose Abreu and Alexei Ramirez, special 'Taste of ChiSox' event

CHICAGO - The Chicago White Sox announce promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming home series vs. the Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Royals.  

Tickets for all games are available at whitesox.com, the U.S. Cellular Field ticket office (Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday 10 a.m.-4 p.m.) or by calling 866-SOX-GAME. Season ticket packages are available for purchase by calling 312-674-1000.

Monday, April 20, 7:10 p.m. vs. Cleveland

The Free T-Shirt Monday promotion returns this season, giving the first 10,000 fans who enter the ballpark a free T-shirt at every Monday home game. The first Free T-Shirt Monday promotion is a Jose Abreu Rookie of the Year T-shirt on Monday, April 20. Additional information, including future dates and T-shirts, is available at whitesox.com/Mondays.

Miller Lite Extra Base is a new club area located down the left field line. This climate-controlled space, which is equipped with a bar and patio area, is open to the public (all fans age 21 and over with a game ticket) for the first time and available when it is not rented by a group.

Three Men in Kilts, a traditional Irish band from Chicago's South Side, will sing the National Anthem.

 

Wednesday, April 22, 1:10 p.m. vs. Cleveland

The Shark Cage is a new ballpark promotion in Sections 154 and 155 - a total of more than 930 seats. When Sox pitcher Jeff Samardzija is scheduled to pitch, fans with tickets in these sections receive a Shark Cage cap and fin-shaped strikeout card, which can be picked up at the #SoxSocial Lounge before the end of the first inning. Shark Cage tickets are $20 for most games, with the exception of Family Sundays and the Crosstown Cup games (all subject to availability). Please note that the pitching rotation is subject to change.

The Heartzinger Choir from Misericordia Heart of Mercy will perform the National Anthem. Misericordia is an agency that supports over 600 children and adults with mild to profound developmental disabilities from a variety of socio-economic, racial and religious backgrounds in the greater Chicago community.

 

Thursday, April 23, 7:10 p.m. vs. Kansas City

The K Zone For Sale is a ballpark promotion launched last season in Sections 154 and 155 - a total of more than 930 seats. When Sox ace Chris Sale starts, fans with tickets in these sections receive a "K Zone For Sale" T-shirt and strikeout card, which can be picked up at the #SoxSocial Lounge before the end of the first inning. "K Zone For Sale" tickets are $20 for most games, with the exception of Family Sundays when the tickets are $15 and the Crosstown Cup games (all subject to availability). Please note that the pitching rotation is subject to change.

The Taste of ChiSox is a pregame event in the Miller Lite Extra Base lounge that gives fans the opportunity to try a sample-size portion of some of U.S. Cellular Field's new food offerings, such as the Cuban sandwich, bacon-on-a-stick and the pot roast sandwich. Levi Kreis, actor and recording artist, will sing the National Anthem. Kreis won a 2010 Tony Award in 2010 for his role in the musical Million Dollar Quartet and has released six albums to date. His music has been featured in popular TV shows like The Vampire Diaries, Sons of Anarchy and So You Think You Can Dance.

 

Friday, April 24, 7:10 p.m. vs. Kansas City

Jesse White, the Illinois Secretary of State, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch in recognition of April as national "donate life month." He will be throwing the first pitch in honor of organ and tissue donor Krissy Karner, who donated her cornea so her mother Rosemarie Beedy could regain her sight. In Illinois, more than five million people have signed up for the registry but about 300 people die waiting for the gift of life every year. Illinois residents can sign up to become an organ and tissue donor at lifegoeson.com.

Chicago White Sox Charities will be donating funds from Friday's fundraising efforts to Illinois Tornado Relief Efforts. The funds from both Sox Split (the organization's 50/50 in-park raffle) and in-game auction (Sections 135 and 535) will be designated to assist with relief after a deadly tornado devastated Fairdale early this month.

The White Sox invite fans to celebrate their Hispanic heritage at the ballpark with Día de la Familia. The first 20,000 fans to enter U.S. Cellular Field will receive a Jose Abreu Rookie of the Year blanket, presented by Beggars Pizza. Univision news anchor Jorge Barbosa will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Specially priced tickets and additional information are available at whitesox.com/familia.

The White Sox will celebrate the 2014 accomplishments of first baseman Jose Abreu and shortstop Alexei Ramirez in a pregame presentation. Both players will receive their Silver Slugger Awards, while Abreu also will receive his American League Rookie of the Year Award and Rookie of the Year Greatness In Baseball Yearly (GIBBY) Award. Fans will have the opportunity to take photos of the trophies on display in the Trophy Zone at Section 157.

 

Sunday, April 26, 1:10 p.m. vs. Kansas City

Family Sunday, presented by The University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital, offers tickets as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in the Lower Level with $10 parking. Entertainment includes children's running the bases postgame (weather permitting), face painters, balloonists, a caricature artist and magnet art.
