Multiple opportunities to hear about Royals Community initiatives

KANSAS CITY, MO (April 17, 2015) - The Kansas City Royals return home to host the Oakland Athletics (April 17-19) and later the Minnesota Twins (April 20-22). Throughout the year, various broadcasts and reports will highlight Royals Charities events and other community outreach. Please see below for more community information on the current homestand.

 

Friday, April 17 - Oakland Athletics vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

  • KU Health Awareness Night - The Royals and the University of Kansas Hospital are proud to partner to bring Organ Donor Awareness Night to Kauffman Stadium. Learn about the life-saving power of organ donation. Patients who have benefitted from organ donation will be honored during the first pitch ceremony and Buck O'Neil Legacy Seat program.
  • 50/50 Raffle presented by Edelman & Thompson - A portion of the proceeds from the nightly Royals Charities fundraiser will benefit local Boys & Girls Clubs' RBI program. www.royals.com/5050.
  • Royals Charities and MLBPAA Concourse Auction - Royals Charities and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association host a silent auction near Guest Services on the main concourse from the time the gates open until the end of the sixth inning. Unique auctions will take place during each game of this series.

 

Saturday, April 18 - Oakland Athletics vs. Royals, 6:10 p.m.

  • Royals Charities and MLBPAA Concourse Auction - Royals Charities and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association host a silent auction near Guest Services on the main concourse from the time the gates open until the end of the sixth inning. Unique auctions will take place during each game of this series.
  • 610 Saturday - Royals Vice President of Community Affairs & Publicity Toby Cook joins host Josh Vernier on 610 Sports Radio's local pregame broadcast each Saturday in the 5 p.m. hour throughout the season to promote community and promotional activities planned for each homestand. www.royals.com/610saturday.
  • Countdown to Game Time - Cook also reports from the field during the Royals Friday or Saturday on-field pregame show throughout the season on the Club's charity initiatives involving players and community partners.

 

Sunday, April 19 - Oakland Athletics vs. Royals, 1:10 p.m.

  • Royals Charities and MLBPAA Concourse Auction - Royals Charities and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association host a silent auction near Guest Services on the main concourse from the time the gates open until the end of the sixth inning. Unique auctions will take place during each game of this series.

 

Monday, April 20 - Minnesota Twins vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

 

Tuesday, April 21 - Minnesota Twins vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

  • Royals in the Community on RRN - Royals Vice President of Community Affairs & Publicity Toby Cook reports each Tuesday throughout the season on the Club's charity initiatives during the Royals Radio Network Pregame Show presented by the Kansas City Area Chevy Dealers.

 

Wednesday, April 22 - Minnesota Twins vs. Royals, 7:10 p.m.

  • Dream Factory - Throughout the season, the Royals grant the wishes of Dream Factory children. These youngsters, who face life-altering challenges, will meet Royals players, watch batting practice from the dugout and enjoy the game and refreshments. Their Royals experience appears on the KMBC-TV (Channel 9) 10 p.m. newscast.
