Washington Nationals Homestand Highlights

MONDAY, MAY 4

• Livan Hernandez Bobblehead Presented by PNC Bank: As part of the celebration of the team's 10-Year Anniversary season, the first 25,000 fans to enter Nationals Park through ALL GATES will receive a Livan Hernandez bobblehead presented by PNC Bank. The bobblehead commemorates the first pitch thrown in Nationals history in April 2005 and is the first of five "Great Moments in Nationals History" bobbleheads that will be given away. Fans will also have the opportunity to receive an additional Livan Hernandez bobblehead with the purchase of the Majestic 10th Anniversary T-shirt. This offer will only be available at the Nationals Clubhouse Main Team Store after gates open on Monday, while supplies last.
• Salute to Public Service: In celebration of Public Service Recognition Week, the Nationals are working with the Office of Personnel Management and the Partnership for Public Service to coordinate a special tribute to those who serve in the federal workforce. Office of Personnel Management Director Katherine Archuleta will throw out the ceremonial first pitch to highlight the hard-working and dedicated federal workforce. Pregame ceremonies will also include recognition of the finalists for the 2015 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medal.
• The National Anthem will be performed by Miss America 2015 Kira Kazantsev. 

TUESDAY, MAY 5 

• 10-Year Tuesday Bottle Stopper: The first 10,000 fans to enter the ballpark through ALL GATES will receive a 10-Year Tuesday Bottle Stopper. To celebrate the 10-Year Anniversary, six monthly 10-Year Tuesday games will feature a collectible keepsake. This bottle stopper is the second 10-Year Tuesday collectible. 
• Jayson and Pals: Jayson Werth will host families from Shelter House, offering a brief reprieve from their difficult circumstances. Shelter House provides crisis intervention, safe housing and supportive services to promote self-sufficiency for homeless families and victims of domestic violence. Every month, Jayson will invite families to view on-field batting practice, participate in a private meet and greet, and provide them with tickets to the game and NatsBucks.   
• Span's Fans: Span's Fans is Denard Span's season-long program that treats children from single-parent families to a day of Nationals baseball. The group will enjoy a private meet and greet with Denard, special batting practice viewing, tickets to the game and NatsBucks.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 6

• Weather Day: The Nationals will welcome back the FOX 5 Weather Team- Tucker Barnes, Sue Palka and Allison Seymour- to Nationals Park for their annual interactive presentation on weather and how it affects a Nationals baseball game. FRIDAY, MAY 8

• Military Branch Days Delivered by UPS- U.S. Navy Day: The Washington Nationals will honor and celebrate the U.S. Navy, marking the first of the 2015 Military Branch Days delivered by UPS. Representatives from the U.S. Navy will participate in pregame ceremonies and be special guests of the Nationals' for the Salute to Service. Highlights include: 
• Commodores, the U.S. Navy Jazz Band, will play in Center Field Plaza 
• Navy Silent Drill Team will perform in center field  
• 150 Top Sailors from Naval District Washington will line the field for the National Anthem 
• Musician 1st Class Kenny Ray Horton, U.S. Navy Band will perform the National Anthem and God Bless America during pregame ceremonies 
• Ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Vice Admiral William Hilarides, Commander, NAVSEA
• Starting Lineup Tunnel will feature Top 10 Naval District Washington Sailors
• Admiral Jonathan Greenert, Chief of Naval Operations will administer the oath of re-enlistment to sailors on the field, as well deliver the game ball to the day's starting pitcher 

SATURDAY, MAY 9

• 10th Anniversary Day featuring Frank Robinson: Former Nationals skipper Frank Robinson will be at Nationals Park to help celebrate the Nationals' 10-Year Anniversary season. Robinson will be honored during pregame ceremonies. 
• MedStar Health Youth Baseball Clinics: As the official medical partner of the Washington Nationals, MedStar Health will join the team in hosting three MedStar Health Youth Baseball Clinics beginning on Saturday, May 9. Youth baseball and softball athletes from the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia, as well as local military children, will be invited to take part in the free clinics. Before Saturday's game, participants will receive hands-on instruction from Nationals coaches, who will offer tips on the art of batting, fielding, pitching and baserunning and will participate in a Q&A session about baseball. Two additional clinics will be held on June 9 and September 5. 

SUNDAY, MAY 10

• Mother's Day: 5,000 carnation flowers will be handed out on Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day compliments of Harris Teeter. Flowers will be distributed as guests exit the game through Center Field and Right Field Gates. 
• Honorary Bat Girl: Tracy Lustig has been named the Washington Nationals' winner of the 2015 Honorary Bat Girl Contest, which recognizes baseball fans who have been affected by breast cancer and demonstrate a commitment to eradicating the disease. She will be recognized in the pregame ceremonies.
• Me and a Friend: In partnership with USO of Metropolitan Washington and SAIC, this program recognizes the challenges that military children face as they regularly relocate due to their parents' military assignments. The Nationals provide tickets to children of active duty service members, giving them the opportunity to use the tickets to connect with peers and help make new friends. SAIC pregame kid-friendly picnic party for USO children and their friends will take place in the Family Picnic area behind Section 142.

2015 MLB ALL-STAR GAME VOTING: 

• The 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot is officially open, and for the first time ever, it's online-only! Nationals fans can cast their votes by visiting nationals.com/vote. You can also receive the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game ballot by texting VOTE to 89269. Remember: vote early, vote often, vote Nats!

PARKING, SAFETY AND TRANSPORTATION
Visit nationals.com/waytogo for information on parking and additional routes to Nationals Park. To receive up-to-date WMATA service notifications on a mobile device, fans are encouraged to register for Alert DC at https://textalert.ema.dc.gov/.  

Fans are encouraged to allow plenty of extra time when getting to their seat due to the MLB-mandated use of metal detectors. All guests must pass through a form of metal detection to enter the ballpark. Guests who don't wish to walk through a metal detector will have the option of being screened with a handheld metal detector. 

Fans traveling to the ballpark should be aware that there are numerous new construction projects underway in the surrounding area. There are no road closures, however, two pedestrian sidewalks are closed - the north side of the intersection of New Jersey Avenue and I Street SE and the corner of First Street SE and N Street SE. To ensure safe crossings, please be mindful of signage and directions given by public safety officers.
