Roster Move

Today the Pirates have selected infielder/outfielder Steve Lombardozzi (#23) from Triple-A Indianapolis and have placed outfielder Andrew Lambo on the 15-day D.L. due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot (retroactive to 5/4).

The switch-hitting Lombardozzi currently ranks second in the International League in batting (.379) and has hit safely in 10 of his last 11 games (17-for-41, .415). He made eight appearances in right field, seven in left field, three at third base, two at second base and one at shortstop with Indianapolis.

Lombardozzi was acquired from Baltimore on 2/3 in a deal for cash considerations and attended spring training with the Pirates as a non-roster player.
